G0AKH WAB-IT Program for Worked All Britain Record Keeping

• Written for the IBM PC and compatible computers, running under the Windows™ Operating System (Sorry not compatible with Windows XP).
• Keep information on WAB Areas, Rateable Districts/Unitary Authorities/Counties, Large Squares, Millennium Award, Decade Award, English/Welsh/Scottish/Northern Irish Awards, WAB Bookholders, Islands worked/heard and Net Control Hours.
• Prepare claims for WAB Awards.
• Prepare 'hit lists' of areas etc. still needed to be worked/heard.
• Keep information on stations worked/heard - a computer version of a card index system.
• Use the mouse, just the keyboard, or a combination of both - whichever you find easiest.
• All facilities are accessible by using a combination of the Alt key and the underlined letter - e.g. to Exit a program option, either press the Exit button or press the Alt-X combination.
• Pop-up hints - when you move the mouse cursor over buttons, boxes etc., a hint appears informing you of its purpose, or the format of data required to be entered.
• Title Bar at the top of the screen - shows the current set of data files in use, the date, and the current program option.
• Status Bar at the bottom of the screen - a copy of the pop-up hint appears in the status bar.

The minimum hardware requirements are:

• IBM PC or compatible
• FILES=50 or more in CONFIG.SYS
• Windows 3.1 operating system (Sorry not compatible with Windows XP)
• 486 or equivalent processor
• 4 Mbytes of RAM
• 640 x 480 pixel screen resolution
• at least 15 Mbytes of free hard disk space
• 3.5" floppy disk drive A:

• 800 x 600 pixel screen resolution

• Install any number of sets of blank data files to use with the G0AKH WAB-IT program. This enables you to keep separate records for areas worked from home, areas worked mobile, areas heard as an SWL, areas worked by your radio club etc. Each set of data files can keep records on any number of bands worked/heard, so you would only require different sets if, for example, you collect CW separately from Phone. Each blank file set takes approximately 7.5 Mbytes of hard disk space, but as details are entered, these files grow.
• WAB Areas Update program available - keep your list of WAB Areas etc. up to date (for existing users of WAB-IT only). Just send a blank 3.5" formatted floppy disk with adequate return postage, and get your files updated to the latest information. Alternatively:
• Download the Area Update program (in zip format) here (224Kb 11/08/06) [Save the UPDATEAR.ZIP file to your hard disk, then extract the UPDATEAR.EXE program from inside it so you can run it.]
• WAB Bookholders Update program available - keep your list of WAB Bookholders up to date (for existing users of WAB-IT only). Just send a blank 3.5" formatted floppy disk with adequate return postage, and get your files updated to the latest information. Alternatively:
• Download the WAB Bookholders Update program (in zip format) here (165Kb 01/07/02) [Save the UPDATEBK.ZIP file to your hard disk, then extract to a directory where you will keep the Bookholders Update program and Master and Index files.] (NOTE: The first time you use it, you must download the WAB Bookholders Update program, the WAB Bookholders Master File and the WAB Bookholders Master Index all at the same time. The Master File and Master Index must reside in the same directory as the Update program on your hard disk. Once you have downloaded the Update program to your computer, you then only have to download the two Bookholders files at the same time)

• Download version 1.33a (372Kb) of the WAB-IT Program (in zip format) here. [Save the WAB-IT.ZIP file to your hard disk, then extract to the directory where you originally installed the WAB-IT program.] (NOTE: This is for existing users of WAB-IT only - this program will not run on its own!
