Summary of the 40th Annual General Meeting

MINUTES OF THE 2003 AGM - Read, acceptance proposed, seconded and agreed unanimously. Signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

MATTERS ARISING: - Trev Day G3ZYY tendered his apologies that he had only been able to produce one issue of the Pegasus newsletter this year due to pressure of work and the lack of contributions from members. He suggested a club Web Site as a modern alternative to a paper copy. This proposal was readily agreed by the meeting. Content for inclusion was requested.

CHAIRMAN'S REPORT: - John Painter SWL said that this had been quite a busy year and quite successful. He reviewed the year's programme and commented on some of the highlights. Notably Trev G3ZYY technical evenings also Peter G3JFS contribution. The visits to the Met Office and Porthcurno Telegraphy museum were also mentioned. He congratulated the joint winners of the constructor's contest G3JFS and M0BHG. He confirmed the details of the club's forthcoming 40th Anniversary Dinner at the Rodney Inn. Acceptance of the report was agreed by the meeting.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: - By Brian Giles M0BHG welcomed everyone to the club's notional 40th AGM. Attendance at meetings had been very variable with some well-supported and only three members on other occasions. He felt that two meetings a month were unsustainable during the summer months. A total of 22 meetings were in the programme this year, plus the 40th Celebration Dinner, with six outside events (two of which were cancelled). He said that he had been the secretary for the last 10 years and hoped that someone new would take over. A vote of thanks were to due the Chairman John Painter, also all the members who sponsored the club Licence fees and RNARS subs and all who had help out in other ways, not forgetting the ladies. Acceptance of the report proposed, seconded and agreed.

TREASURER'S REPORT: - The Treasurer Roland Hewett G3XLU handed out copies of the club's audited balance sheet to those present. He reported that the club was in a healthy finical position. All expenses were paid up to date excepting the club equipment insurance. The treasurer expressed his thanks to the Examiners (auditors) of the accounts Mr & Mrs Dave Bond who had done a very thorough job.
Approval of the accounts was agreed by all present.
